Our mission is to confront violence and oppression, promote safety, healing, empowerment and hope for all through intervention, advocacy and education.
Lakes Crisis and Resource Center (LCRC) provides direct service to victims of violence through the crime-specific programs of: Battered Women, Sexual Assault, General Crime, Child Abuse and operates Positive Connections Parenting Time Center. Each of the crime specific programs provides: 24-hour crisis hotline; legal, systems, and personal advocacy; support groups, public and professional education, information and referral. Positive Connections sees children whose parents have a current restraining order or other court document in place requiring their utilization of the service as well as children currently in foster care and out-of-home placement. For all of the above services, we strive to provide a safe, respectful environment with programming designed to meet the self-defined needs of those who have been victimized by violence, abuse or neglect. LCRC has been working on fulfilling this mission for more than twenty-seven years.
